From the Dune du Pyla to
the Cap Ferret point passing Arcachon, La Teste de Buch, Gujan Mestras, Audenge, Andernos,
Piquey
, this route will form the contour of the Arcachon Basin.
The Arcachon Basin is a wedge along the Atlantic Coast with it's magnificent beaches of
fine sand of witch the opening is the Dune du Pyla and the Cap Ferret. |

At the entrance of the
Arcachon Bay, the passes of the Banc d'Arguin border the ocean and the more quiet waves of
the bay, top environment for oyster farms, fishing, boating, diving, surfing sports,
ornithological natural park reserve Le Teich and l'Ile aux Oiseaux

In 1864 ,
thanks to the discovery of sea baths, Arcachon was built around the Casino Moorish, a town
quarter called the "Ville d'Hiver" with it's magnificent villas of days before.
| The "Ville de Printemps" is
found around Park Pereire. The "Ville d'Eté is represented by the town centre and
the Arcachon sea front, where you will find the Hotel Point France opposite to the beach
and next to the Casino and the Congress Hall. |

The town
quarter logically is "Ville d'Automne", rebaptised "l'Aiguillon, is made up
of the fishing port and yachting port.
Because of this, Arcachon is the most important town named after the bay and was developed
over the years.

A natural mineral water source was
drilled at a depth of 472 meters between "Parc Pereire" and the
"Moulleau".
In 1977 the Moorish casino( Casino Mauresque) was destroyed by fire where took place the
new and beautiful "Parc Mauresque " overlooking the whole town .
Don't hesitate to climb the Belvédère, built by Gustave EIFFEL, situated next to the
park to enjoy a spectacular view of the Arcachon Bay. |
Another
Casino exists at the Chateau Deganne on the sea side in front of the Congress Hall facing
the Arcachon beach between the Jetée Thiers and Eyrac, very close to Hotel Point France.
For bicycle lovers there are numerous
bike paths permitting you to bike around the bay and along the sea shore. Bicycles can be
rented just in front of the hotel.
On top of the "Dune du Pyla", the highest dune in Europe 107m, you will
appreciate a magnificent panoramic view of the forest "des Landes", the Atlantic
Ocean, the "Banc d'Arguin"and "les passes", the Arcachon Bay, the
point of the Cap Ferret just opposite side. |

Don't
hesitate to take the boat opposite the hotel to visit the bay and discover Arcachon, the
"Dune du Pyla"from another angle not to forget a ride around the "l'ile aux
Oiseaux"(Birds Island) and it's "cabanes Tchanquées".

list to choose from: golf, tennis, horseback riding, sailing, canoeing the basin or the
"Leyre", archery, shooting, surf sports, team sports, beach volley, pelote
basque with a left sided wall etc... |
A "
thalasso" therapy centre is an integral part of the town next to " Parc
Pereire".
Numerous concerts and entertainment take place all year round. A theatre,
"l'Olympia", 1000 seats, since 2006 is presenting quality theatrical
entertainment.
During the tourist season, big name artists produce shows at the "velodrome"

Arcachon is located 65 km from Bordeaux, a superb famous city and it's surrounding wine

10 min. from Arcachon is the horse race course of La Teste with numerous races all year
long.
The Villemarie airport offers air tours, glider, parachute jumping all year long.
Open all year long,there is a very nice zoo located in La Teste, near Arcachon.
15 min. from Arcachon you will find 3 amusement parks for young and grown up : "La
Coccinelle", "Kid Park" and "Aqualand" open during the summer
holiday.
The Arcachon bay offers numerous activities such as: karting, adventure tree climbing,
bungee cord jumping, paint ball, wall climbing, archery, horseback riding, various
yachting activities
